Who is eligible for the NDSU Accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN program?

NDSU Online/Blended Accelerated BSN Nursing program is for individuals who

  • Have completed a non-nursing bachelor’s degree
  • Or have completed a graduate degree and seek an in-demand healthcare career

How many students are accepted into the Accelerated Nursing Program?

The number of students accepted in this program varies from year to year.

What are the important dates/deadlines I should be aware of?

  • July 20 – It is recommended to apply by July 20 for fall semester start. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis after this date. To be eligible for fall nursing program admission, the prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of summer semester, prior to the start of fall semester.
  • August 1 – Decisions sent via email

Does the Accelerated Nursing Program at NDSU allow me to complete the nursing program early?

The accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN program from NDSU helps you gain necessary knowledge and skills in a shorter amount of time, as compared to traditional BSN programs. Complete the program in approximately 14 consecutive months through classes and clinical experiences in fall semester, spring semester, summer term, and fall semester.

What type of transcripts are needed with my application?

  • Ensure transcripts from all schools attended (other than NDSU) were submitted to the NDSU Admissions Office with your NDSU application.  Transcripts do not need to be sent to the nursing department.
  • If you are taking courses in the spring and/or summer semester at a school other than NDSU, you will need to have transcripts sent to the NDSU Registration and Records office as soon as grades are posted.

How do I confirm that my application was received?

You will receive a confirmation statement on your screen when you submit your application.  Additionally, an email receipt of submission will be sent to your email address listed on the application.

    What type of financial incentives are available for the NDSU Accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN program?

    • Two incentive payments of $13,000 from Sanford Health - Bismarck for students who meet criteria* OR
    • $25,000 signing bonus from Sanford Health - Bismarck upon successful completion of NDSU Accelerated BSN (Post-Baccalaureate) degree
    • 2-year commitment to joining the Sanford Medical Center - Bismarck nursing team

    *Please note that acceptance into the NDSU Accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN Program provides no guarantee of qualification for the financial resources option from Sanford Health Medical Center - Bismarck. Students must apply directly to Sanford Health Medical Center - Bismarck and must meet eligibility criteria for the nursing education incentive financial resources.

    Is this an online program?

    The Accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN degree program at NDSU is a blended program. The program includes in-person classes, with some online classes available. Students are expected to attend all lab and clinical experiences in person.
