Dr. Donna Grandbois, Assistant professor of nursing was invited to be one of the presenters at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s annual Spring Leadership Training for the Nurse Faculty Scholars Program. The overall theme of the meeting was “Skills for Teaching Excellence.” The focus of the conference was: Development of a Community of Learning: Leadership at the Institutional and School of Nursing Level in Changing the Culture of Diversity. The meeting objectives were to: Discuss key trends in academia and health professional education including interdisciplinary/inter-professional education; List creative pedagogical techniques used by other scholars and experts; and to identify important elements of what it means to develop “a community of learning” – with emphasis on providing institutional leadership for diversity and evaluation. The conference was March 23 and March 24, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois.
