GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT NDSU OPERA

Season Information:

  • NDSU Opera will present a fully staged production (Title TBD) in February 2025.
  • Additional performance opportunities may include a scenes program, concert of arias/small ensembles, and/or educational and recruitment outreach to regional schools.
  • Full 2024-2025 season details will be made available by August 1, 2024.

Rehearsals/Time Committment:

  • The General Rehearsal period for NDSU Opera productions is during the Fall and Spring semesters on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:00-5:00PM.
  • Each individual production will include additional rehearsals outside of the General Rehearsal period to accommodate a tech week and some blocking/choreography rehearsals. These dates will be communicated well in advance (usually by the time of auditions) and will be required of all cast and crew members. Tech week usually begins approximately one week prior to the first performance and usually involves being called to evening rehearsals from approximately 6-11pm each day of the week until opening night of the production. During Tech Week, cast members will not be called to the General Rehearsals unless absolutely needed.
