Gear up for Giving Day

“There’s a lot of places you can donate; there’s a lot of worthy causes, but there’s only one group of Bison,” said pharmacy alumnus John Mortensen (’77).

NDSU Giving Day on Tuesday, November 30 offers a convenient 24-hour online opportunity to contribute to help future pharmacists, nurses, public health, allied sciences and health services professionals. Funds support scholarships and enhance programs in the College of Health Professions.

  • Every 25 gifts to the College of Health Professions will unlock $25,000, up to $75,000 to support pharmacy scholarships through this Anonymous Pharmacy Scholarship Match.
  • For every dollar given to the College of Health Professions, Janet and James Gilsdorf will gift $1 for Public Health scholarship support up to $15,000.
  • A committed donor group will match donations to the Department of Public Health Program Fund $1:$1 up to $3,000, with the Healthcare and Higher Education Collaborative Public Health Match.
  • Would you like to hear how to lower taxes or trade a gift for income? If NDSU receives 50 planned gift information requests, it will unlock a $50,000 gift from a husband-and-wife alum team that will benefit scholarships in the College of Health Professions. To participate, when making a gift to any area select “yes” to the estate planning question during checkout.
  • North Dakota Rexall Club will match donations given to the North Dakota Rexall Club Scholarship Endowment up to $4,000.
  • Fifty gifts to the Sudro Society Pharmacy Program Fund on Tuesday, November 30, unlocks $2,500 as part of the Rear Adm. (Ret.) Fred (’70) and Linda (’73) Paavola Sudro Society Challenge.
  • Thirty gifts to NDSU Public Health unlocks $2,500 as part of the Rear Adm. (Ret.) Fred (’70) and Linda (’73) Paavola Public Health Challenge.

“I am very humbled to have become a scholarship recipient,” said Jaylee Messmer, class of 2022 in radiologic sciences. “They inspire students to do their best and to give back in the future.”

Allison Bushaw pharmacy class of 2024 echoed that idea. “It motivates us to work harder and return that good you've shown to pay it forward.” 

"Your investment in our students and faculty is greatly appreciated. The generosity of alumni and friends helps to educate the future healthcare workforce," said Charles D. Peterson, dean of the NDSU College of Health Professions.
