Message from President Cook

August 26, 2024

Dear Campus Community,

Welcome back for what will be a productive and exciting Fall 2024! I hope that all of you enjoyed some fun and relaxation during the summer months. It’s always invigorating to see our campus come alive with the energy of a new academic year, and this year is no exception.

We are off to a terrific start, thanks to the incredible efforts of our faculty, staff , and student volunteers who have gone above and beyond to welcome our students, their families, and friends during Move-In Day and the kickoff of Welcome Week. The sense of community and enthusiasm during these events truly reflects the spirit of our university.

As we begin a new semester, I am confident that we will continue to build on our strong foundation of academic excellence, innovative research, and student success. Our collective efforts will not only enhance the educational experiences of our students but also contribute to the broader impact we strive to make as a leading land-grant institution.

This semester, we will continue to implement NDSU Transform priorities with initiatives focused on growing our Bison Nation through enhanced recruitment and retention efforts. With the generous support of our legislators, donors, and private partnerships, we will also see the development of new state-of-the-art learning facilities such as the Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex and the Bolley Agricultural Lab to further enrich NDSU’s educational experience and foster research and creative activity. We remain committed to creating every opportunity for our students to gain life-changing experiences both in the classroom and in our community through industry connections and innovative programs. Focusing on employee well-being and supporting a welcoming campus community, I encourage all of you to participate in the upcoming employee engagement initiative with more details to follow.

Take a minute to watch this message from me and Student Body President, Garrett Kuhn.

Thank you for your dedication, passion, and hard work. Together, let’s make Fall 2024 a semester to remember!

Go Bison!
