Sunday, September 22nd
Out of Darkness Walk, hosted by the Green Bandana Project

12-4pm with walk begining at 2pm 
Scheel's Arena - 5225 31st Ave S, Fargo

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

Monday, September 23rd
Bracelet Making to Support Suicide Prevention Month 

9am-12pm
Memorial Union, across from Caribou Coffee

Join the Campus Well-being Educators in bracelet-making to support Suicide Prevention Month. This event will also include education on suicide prevention and what you can do to support someone who might be struggling with suicidal ideation. Stickers, buttons, and other fun Student Health Service goodies will also be provided!

Engage in an art project while learning how you can improve social interactions, meet new people, and build new relationships.  No art skills required!

Question. Persuade. Refer.  Three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.  The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training.

How to Save a Life: Suicide Prevention on College Campuses *Keynote*

This session will identify common risk factors for suicide among college students, describe the 3-step theory of suicide, and explain suicide prevention strategies for college students.

*To recieve CEUs, please register on the DCE Website. No registration required for participants NOT needing CEUs.

Be the Light: How to Support Suicidal Friends & Family

This workshop will identify suicide warning signs, describe strategies for supporting someone with suicidal thoughts, and identify strategies for self-care when supporting someone who has suicidal thoughts.

Finding Hope in a Hard World: Creative Ways to Spark Hope

This workshop will describe the HOPE model, identify hope-building strategies, and explain how to create a Hope Box.

Josh's Bench Unveiling

A ‘Josh’s Bench’ will be unveiled on the east patio entrance of the Memorial Union to demonstrate community support for those struggling with their mental health and to raise awareness about suicide prevention resources.

Moving America's Soul: A Sucicide Prevention Documentary and Panel

As a part of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, join us for the screening of the documentary, Moving America’s Soul on Suicide and panel to discuss resources on our campus and local community.

The documentary highlights nearly a dozen very personal stories of triumph over trauma, pain, and mental health challenges. This impactful and inspiring documentary film series was developed with the National Action Alliance For Suicide Prevention, 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and Vibrant Emotional Health. Thursday, September 26th
Mental Health First Aid Training

9am-4pm
Memorial Union, Sahnish 

MHFA teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills that you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Green Bandana Training

12:15-1pm
Memorial Union - Meadow Lark

The Green Bandana Project creates a visual support system around campus for anyone struggling with anxiety or depression. The bandanas are attached to student’s backpacks when they have pledged to be a safe individual to approach with mental health- related issues and that they know where resources are. The green bandana is a sign of quiet solidarity. Attend the training and learn more on how you can support the community.  More information can be found here.
