NDSU Specialization
Management of Infectious Disease
How did the NDSU MPH prepare you for the workforce?
The NDSU MPH program has provided me with a foundation in epidemiology and the skills necessary to assist with identifying and managing infectious disease outbreaks. I appreciate that I was able to focus on my specific areas of interest, including antimicrobial resistance and One Health, during this program.
Current position
Associate Veterinarian, mixed animal practice
How are you impacting the health of your region?
Through my work as a practicing veterinarian in northwestern Minnesota I minimize the spread of animal and zoonotic diseases. I am passionate about One Health, the interconnectedness of human health, animal health and the environment. Thus, educating animal owners about the transmission of parasitic, viral, and bacterial diseases, as well as proper antibiotic use is an important aspect of my profession.
