Abacaxi –
This pineapple is best known in Florida, Brazil and the Bahamas.  Claimed by many to be the best tasting pineapple because of its rich, sweet flavor.  It is juicy and only has a narrow core.  The fruit is too tender to be used commercially, it can be harvested without a knife.  The leaves are a bluish color and spiny.  Weight 2.2 to 11 pounds.
