Farmers plant about 80 million acres and harvest almost 10 billion bushels of corn every year. (Hobbyfarms.com).  Living in the Midwest we are constantly exposed to farming and agriculture.  Whether it is driving by cornfields, bean fields etc., or if it’s passing a tractor on the side of the road.  Not only are we exposed to it on the road but also at home on our plates.  Many do not realize the work to get corn from the field to your home for dinner.  But do many really understand the hard work or the process behind farming?  Farming is no easy task, through the seasons many hours per day are put into creating the right conditions for corn, planting the corn, caring for it, and finally harvesting it. Below you will find links explaining the biology of corn as well as showing you the process of growing corn.
