Greenhouse Production
On January 31 of 2002 the greenhouse production and management class planted bulbs. Everyone made 10 pots for themselves, 100 pots total. We planted daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, blue bells, anemones and irises. The bulbs came form Holland, Karl Schroff and Associates Inc. at 145 Hook Creek Blvd. The bulbs were forced so they would bloom earlier. The greenhouse production and management class used sunshine mix #1 for the soil medium and the bulbs were planted in 6” azalea pots. The bulbs were grown in the horticultural greenhouse located on the North Dakota State University campus. The results of the growth are shown below along with some pictures of the bulbs that were grown.

A few of the bulbs were soft and starting to get bad before we planted the bulbs, but the class tried anyway. Most of the bulbs did very well and the greenhouse production and management class took home the ones that bloomed.
