Title: Dickson’s Conjecture and Bounded Gaps Between Primes.
Abstract: Last week Professor Sather-Wagstaff
spoke about the Twin Prime Conjecture and the recent flurry of events that have
transpired since Zhang's incredible proof that there are infinitely many primes
at most 70,000,000 apart. In this talk, I will discuss a generalized form
of the Twin Prime Conjecture, called Dickson's Conjecture, which received
considerable attention last year via the independent work of James Maynard and
Terrance Tao. I will also discuss some immediate consequences of the work of
Maynard-Tao, including my work with Williams Banks and Tristan Freiberg on gaps
between primes. Finally, I will report on my experience last month at the
Bounded Gaps Between Primes Workshop at the American
Institute of Mathematics (which will include photos of Zhang, Maynard, Tao, and
many others!)
