Title: Order in Chaotic Dynamical Systems
Abstract: Many simple, seemingly ordered, physical systems
exhibit unpredictable behavior if their initial condition is slightly
altered. Such systems are called chaotic. Over the years
mathematicians developed numerous techniques while trying to understand and
analyze chaotic systems. As a consequence, not only we have a quite good
insight of chaotic systems, the tools developed enabled mathematicians to study
many other dynamical systems (modeling various physical phenomena) as well as
to discover and study new type of dynamical systems. In this talk, I will
develop some of these tools and concepts using simple examples and provide some
interesting applications into fractal systems.
