Title: "Sweet" Clyde's Inversion Theorem
(a.k.a. Keeler's Theorem)
Abstract: In
the Futurama episode "The Prisoner of
Benda" the Professor has created a machine that allows two people to
switch bodies. However, once two bodies have switched, they can
not switch back. As the episode progresses, the Futurama
characters all switch bodies and eventually nobody is in their own body. This
raises the question: is there a way to get everybody back in their original
bodies without swapping two bodies that have already swapped? If so, how many
extra bodies are needed to make this possible? In this talk we will answer
these questions by examining what is now known as Keeler's Theorem.
