Adults
- Inner face and ventral surface of hind
femur bright red to orange.
- Hind tibia blue.
- Male cercus large and ear-like.
- Furculae very short.
- Female cercus about as broad as long.
- Ovipositor with weak dorsal tooth.
Nymphs
- Frontal area of face often darker than
sides, as in M. infantilis.
- Post-ocular stripe confined to prozona.
- White lateral crescent extends from
gena to metazona.
- Hind femur with interrupted black
cross-bands.
- In later instars male cercus is
distinctive.
