Identification key to the Noctuinae occurring in the Dakotas

 

D3.  (D2)  Meso-basitarsus slightly swollen, more than 1.5x length of distal four tarsal
        segments.  Tegulae unicolorous or an admixture of brown and whitish scales.
        Richia parentalis (Grote)

    

         

 

D3.' Meso-basitarsus not swollen, as long or slightly shorter than length of distal four tarsal
        segments.  Tegulae with a row of black and white scales.
