Xylesthia pruniramiella Clemens 1859

Common name: listed here as

‘Plum-branch xylesthia.’

Hodges #: 317.

Identification: Rfw 5.37 mm, fw with scale tufts along inner margin, f/hw media stem present in discal cell; vestiture of vertex upright, labial palpi porrect, 2nd segment with a few long bristles.

Similar species: 293, 334, 426.

Distribution: temperate U. S. east of the Great Plains.

Hosts: larvae live in cankers on Prunus– plum.
