Common name: Achemon sphinx.

Identification: Rfw 44.7 mm, fw mottled brown with dark square
patch on inner margin, discal area of hw and vfw pink, tegulae appearing
as dark triangles, each tibial spur with apical spine-like seta.
Similar species: 7859.
Distribution: southern Canada and United States into Mexico.
Absent from the Pacific
northwest.
Hosts: Larvae feed on Vitis– grape, and
Parthenocissus–
woodbine, both Vitaceae.
