Notodonta scitipennis Walker 1862

Common name: Willow finned caterpillar

Hodges #: 7926

Identification: Rfw 17.5 mm, with tuft at mid point along inner margin. Eyes hairy, male antennae bipecinate with pectinations decreasing in size to apex. 

Similar species: 7919, 7920, 7921, 7957, 8010, 8012, 9578.

Distribution: southern Canada and northern and temperate United States.

Hosts: Larval feed on Willows- Salix spp.

Note: In older literature listed as N. stragula Grote.
