Crambidia pallida Packard 1864

Common name: Pale lichen moth.

Hodges #: 8045.1.

Identification: Rfw 11.6 mm, ground color fws brown, veins paler; hws gray with yellow fringe. Fw have only two veins arising from lower half of discal cell, cubitus 'bifid'.  Head with palpi short, ocelli absent. 

Similar species:  8043, 5399, 5403.

Distribution: Southern Canada and eastern U.S. to the eastern edge of the Great Plains.

Hosts: Larvae feed on lichens.
