Catocala meski Grote 1873

Common name: Mesk’s underwing.

Hodges #: 8822.

Identification: Rfw 33.0 mm, fw subreniform spot opened or connected to pm line; hw pm band nearly straight, turned in and tapering near apex; vhw without separate discal lunule.

Similar species: 8805, 8808, 8812, 8829.

Distribution: southern Canada and northern United States east of the Rockies.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Populus– poplars and Salix– willows.
