Plant genomes have undergone multiple forms of duplications during their evolutionary past. These duplications provide the genetic materials that can undero sequence changes which in turn can lead to new genetic functions. This session of Current Topics in Genomics will focus on the evolutionary history of local duplications and how they are manifested in phenotypes.
For this session, each group is assigned one paper. In addition, the group must select a second paper on the same topic and share that paper with the remainder of the class particpants.
As in the past, you are to work in groups. You will prepare a Powerpoint presentation that integrates the two papers, and each member of the group must speak during the presentation.
Each presentation will, as a minimum, include the following:
Each presentation will be 30 minutes long.
Each group is listed below, along with the primary paper for the group. Each group will also be responsible for questions for another groups presentation. The assignment can be found below.
Group 1: Nick Dusek, Oleksander Miastrenko, Sudeshi Seneviratne
Group 2: Lucy Lund, Nathan Wyatt
Group 3: Jyoti Saini, Mingyi Zhang
Group 4: Baljeet Gill, Shuangfeng Ren
Please share your additional paper by May 2, 2016 with the rest of the class.
