As a teenager in the early 1960s, Al Nielsen spent his summers working at a place which others his age had only dreamed about. Making popsicles, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream bars were some of the exciting responsibilities Al had working in the Rugby Creamery, which his great-grandfather made successful in the early 1900s.
Today, as a teenager at heart, Al is still in the industry he grew to love--the dairy food industry.
"I never thought I'd doing anything else," recalls Al. "I was born into the business."
Al didn't just happen to stumble upon the job of working in a dairy food business. His current position as vice president of production at Cass-Clay creamery is a result of hard work and a family dairy business that goes back several generations.
