Tribal Placement: Distant (1910) originally placed this genus in the Graphosomatinae (= Podopinae); Musgrave (1930) tentatively included Ippatha in his revision of the Australian Graphosomatinae (although he left it out of his key to the genera indicating his belief that it was quite different from other Australian graphosomatines. Gross (1975) included this genus in his Ippatha group.
