Distribution: Australia (New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia).

Type Material: Halys apicalis Westwood, 1837: LT & (Gross, 1972, as holotype), unknown locality, OXUM (see note below). Poecilometis cognatus Walker, 1867: HT &, Adelaide [Australia, South Australia], BMNH. Eumecopus vittiventris StDl, 1876: ST(S), &, Australia, NHRS (see note below).

Note: Westwood (1837) did not list a locality in his original description for apicalis (p. 23), but in the catalog portion of the same paper (p. 6), "Australia" was listed as the locality for this species. Gross (1972) indicated that he examined the % HT and a % PT, but StDl (1876) did not have any % specimens when he described this species
