Tanglefoot 1914

General:

This flyer makes the point that flypaper is safer than chemical fly controls by citing the poisoning of 47 children from insecticides.  Interestingly, there is now a statement of how to remove the sticky substance from clothes, etc.  Also, it is interesting that the price per carton (30 cents) is still the same as the 1904 prices, but the price per case has actually gone down in price since 1904 ($2.80 to $2.70).

Front:

The image on front shows the actual Tanglefoot products, at top is a single sheet of flypaper, in the middle is a carton of 50 sheets or 25 double sheets, and at bottom is a case containing 10 cartons.  The case at bottom is a wooden box that has also become a collectible.  There is a border of flies going all the way around the flyer.  In red, it indicates that the capacity of the single sheet is 1000 flies, the capacity of the carton is 50,000 flies, and the capacity of the case is 500,000 flies.

Back:

The text on back reads: "Tanglefoot, the Sanitary Fly Destroyer, non-poisonous."
"From July to November 1914, forty-seven cases of children poisoned by fly poisons were reported from fifteen states.   Since then thousands of newspapers and magazines have warned their readers against using poisons.  Many dealers are now refusing to handle poisonous fly destroyers."
"Gasoline quickly removes Tanglefoot from clothing or furniture."
    "Prices.  Per carton, 25 double sheets - $0.30.  Per case, 10 cartons - $2.70."
"Wood, Nickels Gro. Co., Roanoke, Va."
