Allocating interstate water among the states -- one method has been for the US Supreme Court to address the allocation based on its jurisdiction over disputes between states. The following excerpts are taken from several US Supreme Court decisions in which it developed the concept of allocating interstate water among the states on the basis of an equitable apportionment.
