The Right
Heart
The
right
atrium receives blood from the systemic
veins (the vena cava).
The
right
artrio-ventricular valve is the
tricuspid valve. It prevents blood from flowing back into the
atrium when the ventricle contracts.
The pulmonary valve (lime green valve in
the right ventricle) is positioned where the pulmonary artery leaves
the right ventricle. It prevents blood from flowing back into the
ventricle when it is filling with blood from the atrium.
The
right
ventricle pumps blood to the lungs through
the pulmonary arteries.
