Online Training
NDSU uses the web-based Collaborative Institutional Training Incentive (CITI) for training in U.S. Export Control Regulations and Research Security.
Training requirements:
- The successful completion of the CITI module "Introduction to Export Compliance" for everyone on a project subject to a Technology Control Plan (TCP).
- PIs responsible for compliance with TCPs are also required to successfully complete two additional modules, "Export Compliance for Researchers: Parts I & II" as well as the "Research Security" course.
- Other modules are optional, unless otherwise specified in a TCP.
Those who have completed the CITI training will not need to complete it again for 2 years and should send a copy of their completion certificate to NDSUexportcontrols@ndsu.edu

NEW USERS: Setting up your CITI Account
EXISTING USERS
- Login using your Bison Login and Password.
- From your homepage, click on Add a Course or Update Learner Groups.
- Select the “I need to take the optional course: Export Control Training” box and click “Next”.
- You will be taken back to your home page where you will see your status is “Not Started”. You may start and stop the modules as many times as needed, log out and back in as time permits; the training will pick up where you left off.
