Join a panel consisting of members from the RCA Research Development office, NSF Career awardees, and a previous NSF Program Officer for the "Exploring NSF Career Awards" fireside chat. The panel will discuss the Spring NSF Career Award Bootcamp which starts in January, 2025.

11/15/24: Leveraging NDSU's success on NSF's mandate to spend more in North Dakota!

There has never been a better opportunity to increase NDSU’s success with the National Science Foundation (NSF), because the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 authorized increasing percentages of budget to go to states like North Dakota. More than $1B of NSF’s research budget has been designated in the current fiscal year for regions like North Dakota. NDSU VPR Colleen Fitzgerald and Associate Vice President for Research Development Heidi Grunwald discuss strategies for increasing competitiveness on NSF proposals by targeting specific NSF mechanisms.

11/12/24: Working with Historically Underrepresented Groups (Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research workshop)

Febina Mathew, associate professor, Plant Pathology, and Sheridan McNeil, director of Tribal Partnerships for North Dakota EPSCoR discussed best practices to engage underrepresented groups such as Native American students on campus.

11/04/24: Intellectual Property (IP) Basics for academic researchers and entrepreneurs

John Hanish, J.D., Ph.D., is an IP attorney and NDSU Research Foundation board member. He will present a short session on managing intellectual property and be available for Q&A. Questions can range from “Where do I start?” to specific questions about disclosures, provisional and utility patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

10/23/24: Federal Funding Landscape for the Humanities, Arts, Libraries and Collections 

Join independent arts, history, and culture consultant Mary Downs at this Zoom-only session about securing funding opportunities for the humanities, arts, libraries and collections. Mary prevously served as a Senior Program Officer at the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) from 2009-2022 and she was previously a Research Officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services and a National NAGRPA Program Officer at the National Park Service.

10/2/24: RCA Internal Funding Open House

NDSU research faculty and staff are invited to the RCA Internal Funding Open House Friday, Oct. 4, in the Sahnish Room of NDSU Memorial Union at 10:00 am. NDSU VPR Fitzgerald will give an overview of our current internal funding opportunities and will answer questions about the various programs. The meeting will be hybrid and will be recorded.
