The Office of Admission has two tour guide opportunities, our volunteer team (Bison Guides) and part-time job (Student Tour and Recruitment Specialist), plus a part-time Outreach Assistant position. Additional details and application information for each position are below.
Bison Guides
The Office of Admission is seeking enthusiastic, committed and energetic undergraduate students who enjoy working with people to join the Bison Guides. Bison Guides collaborate with the Office of Admission to share their enthusiasm for NDSU with prospective students and their families by giving tours on weekends and during large events, like Discover NDSU. Campus tours are often the most important part of the campus visit experience for prospective students. As volunteers, Bison Guides give 8-10 hours per semester. All students who are interested in the paid Student Tour and Recruitment Specialist (STARS) position are strongly encouraged to serve as a Bison Guide for at least one semester prior to applying to the STARS position.

Student Tour and Recruitment Specialist
Student Tour and Recruitment Specialists (STARS) work in the Office of Admission giving tours and assisting with office projects. Year round employment is available. The starting wage during the academic year is $12/hr and $14/hr during the summer. Students who are currently Bison Guides are given first priority for open positions. When STARS positions are open, the application will be live on Handshake.
Outreach Ambassador
Outreach Assistants (OAs) represent the NDSU and the Undergraduate Office of Admission. OAs make connections with prospective students and aid them as they progress towards their future at NDSU.

You'll make a great Outreach Assistant if you are eager to help others, make connections, improve your communication skills and benefit from a flexible and supportive workplace. Duties include engaging with prospective students through phone calls, Zoom appointments, texting and online chatting. Some conversations are a reminder to submit a scholarship application. Others are just to talk about the excitement around starting college. Hours are from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. When OA positions are open, the application will be live on Handshake.
