I help to manage several grant-funded projects of Dr. Marisol Berti, the primary investigator for forages, cover crops, and bioenergy crop production at NDSU. I handle communications, administrative tasks, and outreach of the Berti Lab to increase the efficiency of research and publication among lab members. I am also involved as a conference planner for the annual meeting of the Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Within my own research, I am currently studying the carbon intensity (CI) and life-cycle analysis (LCA) of camelina and canola cropping systems. Decreasing CI of camelina and other oilseed feedstocks could help in scale-up of the emerging oilseed biofuels industry. Other research of mine involves field experiments with alfalfa to test the treatment effects of live-cell chlorella algae and mycorrhizal inoculants.
