Agronomy Seed Farm Field Day
The tour starts at 5 p.m. in the farm shop. Tour topics and speakers include:
- Review of 2023 hard red spring wheat trials and preview of ND Stampede hard red spring wheat – Andrew Green, NDSU hard red spring wheat breeder
- Update on current small-grain diseases and corn disease research – Andrew Friskop, NDSU Extension small-grains plant pathologist
- Highlights of changes to North Dakota soil fertility recommendations over the past 30 years –Dave Franzen, NDSU Extension soil specialist
- Update on important diseases of soybeans and other broadleaf crops – Sam Markell, NDSU Extension plant pathologist, and Wade Webster, NDSU Extension soybean pathology specialist
- Soybean variety discussion and update on current NDSU soybean research – Carrie Miranda, NDSU Soybean Breeder, and Gustavo Kreutz, NDSU assistant soybean breeder
- Insect pest update – Jan Knodel, NDSU Extension entomologist, and Pat Beauzay, NDSU research specialist
The evening includes a meal prepared by NDSU Carnivore Catering after the tour.
