2024 Harvest Bowl Celebrates County Agriculturists
The success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and six counties in Minnesota were honored during the 50th annual Harvest Bowl program at North Dakota State University on November 15th, 2024. Congratulations to Sam and Whitney Landman as Grand Forks County Outstanding Agriculturalists at this year's Harvest Bowl. Daniel and Sheri are third-generation grain farmers. Sam and Whitney grow barley, wheat, soybeans, pinto beans and corn, and were the first ND farm to grow mint. They are a minimum-till operation and prioritize conservation while maintaining a balance of short- and long-term economics. Their farm cooperates with NDSU’s Soil Health and Agriculture Research Extension (SHARE) Farm project that studies soil health practices. In 2012, they received the Grand Forks County Conservation award and in 2019 the Anheuser-Busch Soil Health Steward award. Sam serves on the Larimore golf course board, the Grand Forks County weed board and the Knights of Columbus. He also is the Grand Forks County rep to the ND Barley Council. Whitney is a marketing manager at True North Equipment and T-ball volunteer coach.
