Central Dakota Ag Day: Your Source for the Latest in Livestock Management
Mark your calendars for the annual Central Dakota Ag Day on Monday, December 16, at the North Dakota State University Carrington Research Extension Center. This year’s event provides a variety of insights, covering the latest cattle market trends, silage management strategies, breeding program tips, and much more.
The livestock program will feature a series of informative sessions led by experts and agents in the livestock field including:
- Cattle Markets and Inventory Updates – Tim Petry, Livestock Economist, NDSU Extension
- Managing a Successful Beef AI Program – Lacey Quail, Livestock Management Specialist, NDSU North Central Research Extension Center
- Preparing for a Successful Sheep Breeding Season – Rachel Gibbs, Ruminant Systems Management Specialist, NDSU Hettinger Research Extension Center
- Beef Quality Assurance Tidbits – Sarah Crimmins, Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent, NDSU Extension Sheridan County
These sessions are designed to provide producers with the latest research and practical tips to help make informed decisions that can improve their livestock management.
In addition to the livestock-focused programming, Central Dakota Ag Day offers 18 concurrent sessions on a variety of topics, including agronomy, ag life, and horticulture.
The day will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts, providing an opportunity to network. Two keynote speakers will present throughout the day, including Tom Brusegaard of Senator Hoeven’s office with an ag policy update. To wrap up the event, NDSU Extension Crop Economist, Frayne Olson, will share his outlook for the 2025 crop market.
