Welcome to the NDSU Visual Cognition Lab.
The Visual Cognition Lab, directed by Dr. Robert Gordon, is located within the Department of Psychology at NDSU and is affiliated with the Center for Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience.
In the lab, we focus on questions having to do with the mental representation of visual information. In particular, we focus on what people represent about complex scenes and objects, and the role of attention in the development of those representations. We investigate these issues using a number of techniques, including psychophysical techniques, eyetracking, driving simulation, and EEG. The goal of the research is to develop theories than explain how people are able to understand complex visual information.
