Apoecilus Stål, 1870

 

Podisus (Apoecilus) Stål, 1870: 49.

Type Species: Arma grandis Dallas, 1851 (= Pentatoma cynica Say, 1831), by monotypy.

Taxonomic Placement: Is a member of the Subfamily Asopinae.

Key to Species (modified slightly from Thomas (1992)

1     Basal plates of female not convergent apically, mesial plate between them quadrangular; dorsal arm of each male paramere either bent or more slender in diameter than ventral arm

-      Basal plates of female convergent apically, mesial plate between them triangular; dorsal arm of each male paramere curvilinear, not bent, and about equal in diameter to ventral arm (widespread in Canada and the U.S.)
