I am interested in the seasonal ecology of Heteroptera. The primary focus of my experimental research is photoperiodic control of diapause and other seasonal adaptations. My interest covers different seasonal phenomena in Heteroptera: environmental control of seasonal development, diapause (its induction, maintenance, termination), ecology of overwintering, polymorphism/polyphenism, migrations, voltinism, seasonal cycles, life histories, etc. My research in Osaka and Kyoto showed that Nezara viridula responds to climate warming by expanding its distribution range (Musolin & Numata, 2003a, b, 2004, 2007; Musolin et al., 2010; Touguou et al. 2010; Takeda et al., 2010) and this finding promoted my interest in response of Heteroptera to climate change. I am interested in collaboration with colleagues working in the same area. Please let me know by email if you have interest and I will be happy to send you my CV and full Publication list [including non-Pentatomoidea papers and a book entitled Seasonal Development of Aquatic and Semiaquatic True Buts (Heteroptera)].
