24 hours can impact a lifetime
Kaylee Davidson knows the difference education can make. The fourth-year pharmacy student grew up in a town of 367 people and is the first in her family to go to college. She appreciates the opportunities available at NDSU.
“Without the support from our alumni, we, as students, would not have as many opportunities for growth and success,” she said.
Public health graduate student Clinton Alexander will use his training to address public health issues, such as the opioid crisis he has witnessed while working in rural, urban and tribal communities.
Other students echo the importance of support from alumni. “Just having those opportunities means so much and I wouldn’t be here without them,” said Rebecca Sande, who is studying respiratory care in allied sciences.
Senior nursing student Abigail Kramer was among NDSU students who helped treat more than 1,500 indigenous Mayan people in remote villages during a medical mission trip to gain multicultural nursing skills.
“Nurses do amazing things and care more than I thought it was possible to care. I’m very honored to become a nurse,” said Kramer.
