Automated Manufacturing Systems
Focus: Hands on teaching of latest automation technologies to STEM students.
Automation has become an essential component in any industry and learning how to design and program automated systems is integral to any engineering in manufacturing industry.
In this lab, students will learn how to program industrial PLCs (programmable logic controllers), industrial robots and create a smaller scale automation projects similar to ones in industry. Projects including package sorting based on size and weight, automated gating systems, automated fluid flow systems, vission based quality control system etc.
Available equipment: PLCs, 2 Industrial robots, conveyor systems, pneumatic control systems, machine vision systems, microcontrollers, stepper and DC motors, sensor systems
