
NDSU is now accepting applications for its Bison to the Bakken program, a unique 3-credit, 2-week travel experience that provides students with an in-depth exploration of the energy industry in western North Dakota. Student travel expenses for the experience are fully funded from Economic Diversification Research Funding from the previous North Dakota legislative session.
This immersive opportunity allows students to gain firsthand insights into various sectors of energy production and distribution, including oil and gas production, fracking, pipelines, carbon capture, biofuels, lignite coal, wind energy and economic development.
The program is opportunity to explore the energy industry firsthand and build lasting professional connections.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Limited to 45 undergraduate students (15 each from the College of Agriculture, College of Business, and College of Engineering).
COST AND FUNDING
- Travel and lodging costs fully covered.
- Some meals included; students should plan for one meal per day at their own expense.
- Students are responsible for a portion of the 3-credit summer course tuition and fees. Scholarships may be available to help cover tuition costs.
