The Senior Design Expo is the culmination of each student’s undergraduate education. Every major in the College of Engineering concludes with a capstone experience — an intensive, hands-on project that draws on everything students have learned in their time at NDSU. Many of these projects are done in partnership with real companies and organizations, giving students the opportunity to solve real-world challenges before graduation.
“This is one of the most exciting days of the year in the College of Engineering,” said Interim Dean Alan Kallmeyer. “It’s a chance for our students to demonstrate their creativity, technical skills and problem-solving abilities — and a great opportunity for our guests to see the incredible work being done by the next generation of engineers, computer scientists and construction managers.”
The expo would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors, many of whom not only fund projects but also mentor the student teams. These partnerships provide invaluable real-world experience and help students build the skills they’ll need in their careers.
Guests are encouraged to interact with the students and learn more about their work. “Our students are proud of what they’ve accomplished, and they love talking about it,” Kallmeyer said. “We hope you’ll stop by, ask questions and be part of this special celebration.”
Whether you're an NDSU alum, a prospective employer or simply curious about the exciting things happening in engineering, computer science and construction, the Senior Design Expo offers something for everyone. The event is free and open to the public.
