Human Development and Family Science to host virtual open houses

SHARE

NDSU’s Human Development and Family Science department will host two virtual open houses in April to connect with prospective students, their families and school counselors interested in learning more about the program and its diverse career opportunities.

The open houses are scheduled for Monday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 9, each at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Attendees can join the sessions using the following link: https://ndsu.zoom.us/j/98420398387.

Led by faculty and undergraduate coordinator Dr. Christine McGeorge, the virtual events aim to give students a glimpse into the program, which prepares graduates for careers in fields such as social work, education, child and elder care, financial counseling, and public service.

The department encourages high school students, parents, guardians and educators to attend the sessions. An invitation flyer is available for those looking to share the event more broadly. Questions about the open house or program can be directed to Dr. McGeorge at christine.mcgeorge@ndsu.edu.

NDSU’s Human Development and Family Science program gives students the knowledge and skills to work with individuals and families across the lifespan, in a variety of community, educational and service settings.

Alumni of the program are employed as family life educators, extension agents, child protection professionals and nursing home activity directors, among many other occupations.
