The Menard Family Distinguished Speaker Series is thrilled to host economists Robert Lawson and Benjamin Powell for an enlightening discussion on their book “Socialism Sucks: Two Economists Drink Their Way Through the Unfree World.” The event is slated for Oct. 17, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Louise Auditorium in Barry Hall. A reception will follow in the Mezzanine.
This enriching speaker series, brought to life through the generous contribution of the Menard family, continues to foster a culture of intellectual curiosity within the Fargo community by hosting thought leaders at North Dakota State University.
John Bitzan, director of the Challey Institute, remarked, "Given the current widespread misunderstanding of socialism and its implications, there couldn't be a better time to hear from Bob Lawson and Ben Powell. Attendees will be treated to an entertaining and insightful journey as Bob and Ben share their economic knowledge and experiences from their visits to socialist and semi-socialist countries.”
