NDSU has been designated as a silver status Military Friendly School for 2025-26, recognizing the university’s commitment to supporting military service members, veterans and their families.
Awarded by VIQTORY, a military-focused marketing company, the Military Friendly Schools designation is based on extensive research using public data, student veteran feedback, and an institution’s ability to meet key benchmarks in student retention, graduation rates, job placement and financial assistance for military-affiliated students. The silver status distinction signifies that NDSU exceeds the standard for creating a supportive environment for military students.
“We are honored to receive this recognition, which highlights our dedication to serving those who have served,” said Todd Yackley, school certifying official. “At NDSU, we strive to provide military-affiliated students with the resources, guidance, and community they need to achieve their academic and career goals.”
NDSU offers a variety of services to military-connected students, including assistance with GI Bill benefits, academic advising, career support and a Veterans Educational Training Program. The university is also home to an active Student Veterans Organization, which fosters camaraderie and advocacy for student veterans on campus.
The Military Friendly Schools list is published annually to help service members and their families make informed decisions about higher education. This year’s list will be featured in G.I. Jobs magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
