Oudom Hean, NDSU professor finance, will present a talk titled “Regulation and Housing Affordability,” on March 7 as part of the Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop series hosted by the Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth.
Hean, an applied economist and scholar at the Challey Institute, studies regional and financial economics, with a focus on economic disparities between urban and rural areas.
His work examines key economic drivers such as innovation, the minimum wage and offshoring. He was recently honored with the NDSU Waldron Excellence Award for 2023-24.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall. Attendees can join in person or virtually via Zoom. Light refreshments will be available after the seminar in the Challey School of Music Atrium.
The Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop series brings prominent scholars and speakers from across the country to discuss research and policy ideas that promote opportunity, innovation, and societal well-being. The seminars, held every other Friday, are open to NDSU students, faculty, and community members.
