A total of 14 NDSU football players graduated this December. The seniors will play in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 6, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
Each senior football student-athlete is highlighted below.
Oscar Benson

Personal: Benson is the son of Molly Baumgartner and Karl Benson, and has a sister, Stella. Both parents attended NDSU.
Griffin Crosa

Academic: Graduated with a master’s degree in business administration, All-MVFC second team
Personal: Crosa is the son of Fernando Crosa of Powell, Ohio, and Christina Crosa of Dublin, Ohio. His older brother, Sam, was a kicker for Western Illinois in 2017 and 2018 before transferring to Cincinnati in 2019. Fernando played Division I college soccer at Syracuse. His grandfather was a professional soccer player in Uruguay.

Personal: Jung is the son of Steve and Wendy Jung. Steve was a two-time Division III All-American defensive back and member of the Lawrence University athletic hall of fame. He has three brothers, Joe, Matt and Luke. Joe is a defensive back at St. Norbert College and Matt is a defensive back at Minnesota State Mankato.

Personal: Lance is the son of Carlton and Angie Lance. His older brother, Trey Lance, spent two-and-a-half years at NDSU, quarterbacked the Bison to a national championship with a 16-0 record as a redshirt freshman in 2019, and was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Personal: Weerts is the son of Matt and Julie Weerts. Matt was a guard at Augustana College in Illinois. He has a sister, Abby, and two brothers, Ben and Matthew. Ben was a quarterback at Wisconsin-La Crosse. He also has a cousin, Matt Roth, who spent seven seasons in the NFL with the Dolphins, Browns and Jaguars.
