NDSU’s Office of Admission recently welcomed eight high school counselors from around the region for its second annual Counselor Showcase on November 14-15. The event offered counselors a comprehensive overview of NDSU’s academic programs, resources, and campus facilities, helping them better guide students in exploring higher education opportunities at the NDSU.
“School counselors, career center specialists and other education professionals are essential partners for NDSU in the work that we do to recruit future Bison,” said Matt Henry, regional recruitment manager in the Office of Admission. “They help students to find support, community, and success after high school, and are vital to student success. Our DEP Award Honorees exemplify some of the best of what we see in our day-to-day work.
“We are so excited to showcase what NDSU has to offer and hope the counselors in attendance can take some of what they see back to their students who they work with day to day.”
A highlight of the event was a special recognition honoring four area educators with the Distinguished Education Professional award. This award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment to student access to higher education and strong support of NDSU’s mission.
