NDSU Research and Technology Park names CEO

Brenda Wyland has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the NDSU Research and Technology Park

The Board of Directors of the NDSU Research and Technology Park selected Brenda Wyland as new Chief Executive Officer. Wyland previously served in numerous roles at the park including Interim Executive Director. Since 2013, she has been working in the private sector for Appareo, a fast-growth technology company.

“It is an exciting time to rejoin the team at the park. The growth trajectory in front of NDSU and the power of partnerships between the public and private sector will completely transform the park as we move forward. Creating a vibrant vision and strategy for growth will serve us well,” stated Wyland. “I’m grateful for the journey I’ve been on over the last ten years and look forward to getting started.”

NDSU Research and Technology Park board President David Cook said, “NDSU and the park are elated for Wyland to be rejoining the park. Brenda is a visionary and dynamic leader. She brings extensive experience and a very unique perspective to this role, having served in both the public and private sector. Her collaborative nature and drive make Brenda a perfect choice to transform and grow the park. The Board is thrilled to work with Brenda and build an exciting future for the park.”

Wyland has worked with numerous federal and state agencies having successfully started several complex programs over her career. She received her master’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls and bachelor’s degree from NDSU. In addition, Wyland has served on many local, state and national committees including the National Business Incubation Association and as a past grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation.

The NDSU Research and Technology Park is dedicated to enhancing the investments in NDSU by the citizens of North Dakota. Through partnerships with international, national and regional centers of excellence, as well as high technology-based businesses and the research community at NDSU, the Research and Technology Park helps develop technology-based businesses and broadens the economic base of North Dakota.
