North Dakota top place to live, work for young professionals

North Dakota was recently ranked by higher education website Scholaroo as the best state in the U.S. for job opportunities for young professionals.

Scholaroo ranked all states in six categories using a weighted scoring system that awarded points for specific criteria. The website scored states by job market and work conditions, affordability, crime and safety, workplace diversity, health and leisure.

North Dakota ranked No. 1 in highest number of entry-level job opportunities in the country, No. 5 in lowest number of robberies and No. 5 in lowest levels of mental distress.

North Dakota ranked No. 12 overall in the U.S.

According to the 2022 NDSU Career Outcomes Report, 82% of North Dakota high school graduates and 42% of Minnesota high school graduates stayed in North Dakota and were employed. These numbers continue to rise each year.

In addition, almost 60% of NDSU graduates from across the country and internationally are now employed in North Dakota.
