Conducted by NDSU Professor Emeritus Jo Ann Miller, a concert on Saturday, March 15 at Carnegie Hall in New York City will feature more than 70 NDSU choir alumni.
Throughout her 35-year career as the Director of Choral Activities at NDSU, Jo Ann Miller conducted NDSU Concert Choir performances across the country and the world.
Even after retiring last spring, Miller continues to embrace opportunities to connect with former students and share their love of music. The latest opportunity is an exciting one: the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall.
Organized by MidAmerica Productions and conducted by Miller, the concert on Saturday, March 15 features more than 70 NDSU choir alumni who will sing Randall Thompson’s “Frostiana: Seven Country Songs” with the Wagner College Choir from Staten Island, New York. "Frostiana" is inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost.
“It’s turning into a nice reunion,” Miller said in this week's Fargo Forum story by John Lamb. “The most fulfilling part over the last few months is to hear from my students and how excited they are for this.”
James E. Redcay III, chief executive officer of MidAmerica Productions, is thrilled to showcase Miller’s talent on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
“The invitation extended to the North Dakota State University Concert Choir Alumni Choir is a testament to the outstanding musicianship and dedication of their singers. We are proud to welcome them to perform as part of our 42nd season at Carnegie Hall,” he shared with the Fargo Forum.
